Military service in 1st Armored Division:
Zbigniew Solecki was a veteran of the Second World War and served as part of the First Polish Armoured Division. He was part of the battles that took place in Normandy, Belgium, and Holland.
After War:
After the war, he and his wife Maria emigrated to Canada, where he found employment at Toronto Hydro. After retiring, he pursued woodworking and acrylic painting on wood. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail, precision, and patience, which became his signature traits and were widely recognized. He was a kind, generous, and humble man with a great sense of humour, a jovial nature, a hearty laugh, and a warm smile. He was a dedicated father and grandfather, and his family was of paramount importance to him. While he may have slowed down a bit in his later years, he remained a content and cheerful man who never forgot his family. His hobbies included reading and playing cards. He displayed unwavering strength until the very end, serving as an inspiration to us all.
